Re: Girls Nattys

Only Mass team in finals is Assabet 14U vs Mid Fairfield in tier 2.
Tier 1- Chicago Mission girls looked like they were going to be in finals at every age.

Nothing new there. Mission runs over everybody

Re: Girls Nattys

Girls play hockey?

Re: Girls Nattys

They have rinks in kitchens now?

Re: Girls Nattys

Shout out and big congrats to that elite sexual dynamo up in Concord. That’s how you bounce back when they drop a life ruining dossier on you.

Re: Girls Nattys

for the girls tourney, what is difference between tier I and II? And then for tier II, they have 1A and 2A. assabet won girls tier 2, 2A division which is lowest from what i can see. how did they play into the lowest division of the lowest tier?

You misspelled "congratulations".

Re: Girls Nattys

They had a play down in CT teams that lost 2 of 3 games can still request to go to Nationals. Are you kidding me Tier 2 save the dollars for college.

Re: Girls Nattys

Congrats to the girls, but seems like the program was trying to be the big fish in a small pond playing against much weaker talent.

Then again what do you expect from a program owned by a sexual predator.

Re: Girls Nattys

For girls there is no 2006, 2007 year distinction like boys.
So strong girls programs at U14 level have mostly 2006's in Tier 1 and 2007's in Tier 2.
Not sure why there was a 1A and 2A bracket but if you look at MyHockeyRankings
(https://myhockeyrankings.com/rank.php?y=2020&a=c&v=2007)
the teams in 2A bracket were in the top 15 while 1A didn't have any top 10 teams
and the winner in that bracket was ranked 19th...naming seems backwards to me.

So I guess playing the best U13/2007 teams in country is small pond?..funny!
Let's just be happy another Mass team won at Nationals!

Re: Girls Nattys

They had to beat the Wizzies to get there. Must be a meltdown in Bedford. He doesn’t like to lose to the old man.
How many national champs the wizzies win this year ?

1a 2a relates to players registered per capita in a region. Seems to be new and I don’t like because now they are crowning up to 3 national champions per age group. The differentiation does not exist in tier 1.

On a different note, if you are a parent and put your girl into AV, you deserve child services to be called on you.

Most strong girls programs have their top U14 players playing tier 1. Girls Tier 1 rosters have diverse levels of talent even on the top teams. So the tier 2 nationals (while a great opportunity for the girls) is not designed for a team that has a number of tier 1 talent on the roster.

There are really only 6-8 teams at nationals tier 1 that are competitive. So a parent bragging about winning tier 2 with tier 1 players....

It’s an all u-13 team playing u-14. Them and the wizards do it.

Re: Girls Nattys

Wizards do not usually do it and I’m pretty sure they didn’t this year. Mid-Fairfield is the only other true U13 team from NEGHL playing at the U14 T2 level.

Re: Girls Nattys

Wizards Major 1 (tier1) is usually almost all the top birth year. Major 2 (tier 2) is almost all the lower birth year with a couple of upper birth year players.
I dont know where the hell you guys are getting there is only 6 competitive tier one teams at Nationals? You have of our East coast teams that make it as well as all the mid west teams (Mission CYA, TI, Caesars, Honeybaked, Belle, st Louis) and then the 4 or 5 Minnesota teams as well as the SD and LA, Philly, Pittsburgh teams.
Mission was the cream of the crop this year taking 2 of the 3 titles and their other team was knocked out in OT in semi.

misleading, most good programs have the younger birth years play tier 2 and the second year tier 1. the exceptional player jump from tier 1 to tier 1 as they move in age brackets. nothing really spectacular or new with having a U13 team play u14. the other teams are maybe not all but 90% ish.

Re: Girls Nattys

Not misleading at all. Not many teams have U11, U13 or U15 teams. That’s the point and as girls hockey grows if will be more common and nothing is wrong with it.

No NEGHL team has a U13 team, AV might have a de facto U13 team but so do most other deeper clubs. Don’t make it more than it is. U14 Tier 2 Nationals at the higher level is mainly played by13 year olds.

That is correct. And next year 90 % of the 13s will be playing on the #1 14 team playing tier 1. It's the route those teams have chosen and it works out well for them.

Re: Girls Nattys

Nothing wrong with it. Generally speaks to the depth of the organization. Other programs will follow as girls hockey continues to grow.
