2021/2022 Merrimack Visitors Policy – August 2021 Release
Merrimack College holds the safety of its campus as paramount and reserves the right to make policies at any time, that it deems necessary to maintain overall campus safety. To that end, the College has instituted a COVID-19 vaccination and masking mandate. To have any campus access – including the Lawlor and Gallant arenas, all students, faculty, staff, vendors, and guests including members of the Islander Hockey Club need to comply with the overall policy. For Islander hockey, the policy is as follows:
For players:
• For all vaccinated players, masking requirements are defined as wearing a mask upon entering the Merrimack Athletic Complex until they reach the locker rooms in either Gallant or Lawler Arena or return to their vehicle.
• All vaccinated players who can show proof of vaccination can access the campus and go into the rinks and any other part of the Merrimack Athletic Complex available to them.
• All players coming to Merrimack College (Islanders and other teams) who are not eligible to have received a vaccination (currently those under the age of 12) will be given restricted access to Merrimack College with a masking requirement.
o Access will be allowed only to the Merrimack Athletic Complex parking lot (Lot E and Lot F), the DiCroce Lobby, the TSR Pro Shop, Lawler Arena, and Gallant Arena. All other facilities and areas on campus are restricted.
o Should vaccines become available to younger individuals the vaccine mandate will include those eligible.
o For all unvaccinated players, masking requirements are defined as wearing a mask upon leaving their vehicle until entering they reach the locker rooms in either Gallant or Lawler Arena or return to their vehicle.
• All players over the age of 12 (Islanders and other teams) who are not vaccinated must have proof of a negative test within 72 hours before a single entrance to the campus.
o Access will be restricted to Merrimack Athletic Complex parking lot (Lot E and Lot F), the DiCroce Lobby, the TSR Pro Shop, Lawler Arena, and Gallant Arena. All other facilities and areas on campus are restricted.
o For all unvaccinated players, masking requirements are defined as wearing a mask upon leaving their vehicle until entering they reach the locker rooms in either Gallant or Lawler Arena or return to their vehicle.

For parents and non-players (guests):
• All parents and non-players (guests) coming to Merrimack College (Islanders and other teams) and seeking access to the rinks specifically, or any other part of the campus (indoor or outdoor) must be vaccinated.
o Those who can show proof of vaccination can access campus and go into the rinks and any other part of the Merrimack Athletic Complex available to them.
o Proof of vaccination is their CDC issued vaccination card.
o Those who are interested in making their campus access easier will be given an opportunity to get a 2021-2022 Merrimack College identification card that can be shown at the gate and should be kept on their person while on campus. More information will follow regarding this process.
o For all vaccinated parents and non-players (guests), masking requirements are defined as wearing a mask upon the entering the Merrimack Athletic Complex and any other Merrimack facility.

• All parents and non-players (guests) coming to Merrimack College (Islanders and other teams) not vaccinated will be given restricted access to only be able to drive onto Merrimack College campus, drop off their player and stay in their vehicle in the MAC parking lot (Lot E or Lot F)
o All unvaccinated Parents and Non-Players will be required to remain in their vehicle at all times while on campus. Upon completion of dropping off their player(s), the Parent/Non-Players will have the opportunity to park in Lot E or Lot F and wait in their vehicle until the completion of their player’s practice or game at which time their player can come out to the car vehicle for pick up.
o Any unvaccinated parent/non-player who is found outside their vehicle will be escorted off campus, trespassed and denied future access to the campus.
Within Lawler and Gallant Arenas, ALL VISITORS must follow Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s masking guidelines and those of the College. To the extent the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s masking guidelines change for indoor arenas, vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors may be required to wear masks within the two Arenas.
The Merrimack Book Store, Blue Line Club, Dunkin Donuts and the Hall of Fame Lobby are off limits to all unvaccinated individuals regardless of masking.
Please notify the director of the program you are participating in – Islander Hockey Club or Athletic Facilities Administration Representative for other rentals – if you have any questions regarding this matter.

If you have not been vaccinated and you are sitting in the secure parking lot at Merrimack feel free to post here as you will have plenty of time. You won't be able to step out of your car anyway.

This includes coaches and players over the age of 12, unless the coach or players produce a test from a 3rd party facility taken within 72 hours of arrival.

Re: To the Admin

What the hell are you babbling about? I am passing information. I have never locked down, I don't wear a mask, and I sure as hell won't be showing any fascism ID card to anyone. Apparently, you are taking my posts as supporting any of this ridiculousness. My boys will be running around the US playing hockey, just like they have for the past year, regardless of any local policies.

For the record, my basement is a fu$%in^ amazing place to hang out. Shooting lane, gym, and bar ready for the zombie apocalypse.

You two should meet and make out, you deserve each other.

The reason both of you are safe is because you most people in this state are doing the right thing. Now go kiss and make up.

I think you need to brush up on your contemporary definitions….
