Obviously the parents are delusional retards who have no clue. Stay far away from these people especially if you are a coach.
Couple of the best 08's in the county had insta accounts long time ago. Should we stay away from them?
Was never a fan of the social media posts but my sons spring and summer coaches couldn't get enough of it. Those guys would post every game, who scored, etc...My son is older now and has an Instagram with nothing but fishing on it. Hockey kids typically don't talk hockey with their friends, they know who the good ones are and don't need a post to prove it.
It seems like it’s easy to be instafamous these days. It’s definitely about how you’re playing and what you’re doing on the ice but so many teams, coaches and programs do things on Instagram. I still don’t think it’s necessary for a 7 or 8 year old to have an insta account run by their parents but it seems to be a the trend
This is just their way of recording and sharing memories with families and friends, and have some fun. Why would you care? Maybe you shouldn’t be on instagram?
No, I dont think you know what i even mean...so stay out of it or get the facts. It's an account with the kids name, says their team. If it was just fun, it would an account of the parent, not the kid.
and as i mentioned some seem to be doing it to get 'discovered' for tournaments and to be brand ambassadors.
I'm simply asking a question if this is becoming the norm.
The only fact is you are creepy and should stay away from instagram spying 7, 8 year olds. It is nothing new that parents manage accounts for young children on social media and hockey moms are just starting to catch up.
Exactly it is creepy! And easy to find, particularly when the appear as suggestions. They are mainly public profiles as well because clearly the parents WANT them to be found. You and other parents apparently think it's normal to exploit your own child on social media for your own ego purposes. It isn't enough to just have a kid play hockey anymore I guess. The world must know about them.
Some loser dads like to post on FB every time their bender steps on the ice for those spring and summer tourneys. I think that's worse than the kids insta accounts.
Look up the Jr Bruins on Instagram..OMG, every move is posted. Today they skated, ate, got on a plane, ate again, swam, carried their bags, had a photo shoot, it just never ends.
Oh i've seen it...but the team is trying to run a business and they have a social media person who is paid to do that. Social media marketing is huge for a business but now i guess the parents are marketing the kids. An insta page for a business is different than a parent who creates a page for their kid and also posts everything the kid does that is hockey related.
Will O'neill hockey posts something every 10 minutes as well.
Will the kids who don't create accounts be left out when it comes time to be noticed for high school/college?
I know a couple of crazy hockey moms that post every single goal their kid scores playing in the 8th division of the EHF. They tag every single hockey team, league, coach, tournament…it’s sickening. Kind of like being the tallest midget.
Just wait til creepy coaches start sliding into your kids' DM's. Hi - I saw you playing at the Shamrock Shootout Lucky and I think you are special. We'd love to get to know you better on and off the ice...
Are you really surprised by anything overly-energetic parents would do?
I feel a little divided on this one ok people. My children do not do the Insta or the Facebook or the Tweet Tweet or the Tickity Tock thingy. However, our family friends have so many good posts up from all the tournaments they do and their kids are sooooooo good. They are always scoring incredible goals. So I guess they are promoting their little athletes and so be it.
Well that all the time I have for today  Off to the best Pure Hockey store I know lol. We need new a couple of new black helmets and some black gloves hint hint hehehe!!!!!
I don’t mind the accounts or videos - but the moms who post the comments imitating their child is disturbing. They need their own life.
