My child’s coach barely shows up and he’s not a very good coach. There’s been rumors swirling all season that the team is going to fold. I’ve heard that some
Parents of the better kids on the team are already contacting other teams about availability for next year. There was another team in our league that folded and I was told that it happened in a very similar fashion. We have scrimmages in ridiculous locations and we’re all concerned about what will
Happen next year. This year we didn’t have a league to play in until
The last minute. When can my kid skate for another team , is it January 1st ? When can we contact other teams/coaches ? Should I just stay and see what happens? I’d hate to get caught in a bad position. Does anyone have any guidance/advice or suggestions on how to proceed ?
The problem with some of these coaches there isn’t a commitment most are just daddy coaches looking to get a break on the cost of the tuition for their kid. You pay all this money for select/elite hockey and don’t get real coaches better off just playing town if that’s the case. Now not all programs are crap and have good coaches but some of the lower ones in the BHL or PHL you’re just wasting your time and money with these clowns. Find a real established organization to play for …
If they weren't even in a league it doesn't sound like it was that great of a team in the first place. Also don't most teams have more than one coach? Coaches are human and might have to miss a game but there should be another coach or an assistant to take their place. If the coach is missing a lot of games that's another story.
Our Head coach misses games and practices every week all season and has no clue about the need to commit to these kids on and off the ice. The lessons they should be learning from these roll models are so important
Fine a good coach and stay with them it doesn’t matter the color of the jersey it’s all about development
If the coach is the owner of the org then it should be a given they won't be at everything. Find a new team if you're bothered and think it's affecting development
99% of bantam and younger club teams are coached by dads. Love when people claim Coach isn’t committed or doing it for tuition brake lol because I used to coach when kids were younger and the time put in was not worth the couple thousands dollars off tuition. Had a parent question coaches commitment on my daughters team a couple weeks ago meanwhile their kid has missed multiple games and practices and skates with other orgs. Club hockey parent culture is toxic in about 2/3 of the teams in Mass.
Sound like the 08 T1 SSK
I think you mean to say SSK 08 Elite teams coach out next season! :joy: Half his team is leaving next season due to his nepotism!

We have 4 Daddy’s on the bench holding their Little Johnny’s hand
If it’s the same guy , he tried to get my kid this past year and I’m
So Glad we didn’t. What a train wreck he’s running. The practices weren’t great and I hear that they had a hard time getting a league to play in. I consider ourselves very lucky. I’d imagine any of the good players will leave and there won’t be much left , they’ll be back to
Where they were the year before or they’ll fold. I suggest if you don’t feel
Comfortable in your situation to see what else is available.
