Seeing you know how to use google since it landed you here why don’t you google the BHL. Surprisingly you will find a listing of the teams on the BHL site.
I just read a few weeks ago about a U15 team that was all BHL American/ Nationals players entire life just beat one of the best 2007 Fed Elite teams for a long time in State Tournament.
Here some advice play where your kids going to play a lot ( yes you might have to coach the team for a while) the league doesn’t mean anything once your U14 because the Fed is dead after Bantam Minor.
Fed Elite has 2-3 very strong teams after that yuck
E9 has 1-2 very strong teams after that yuck
Town teams are filled with 75% club hockey kids from fed,E9, BHL/ PHL so to compare a town team to any of these league it’s a joke.
Until Fed/ E9 combines which will never happen all leagues around here suck.
If you can’t make one of the top 5 teams in Mass that year Fed or E9 follow the coaching and where your kids going to have the most fun and still develop which could be E9/ Fed/ BHL or even PHL
To OP poster American is higher then National but signing with an E9/ BHL team your taking a risk because you could end up in any of the 3 division depending on how you place in parity.

Your first sentence is incorrect. Don't try to make it like David slaughtered Goliath
Giants U15 team was made up of kids who have played in the E9, BHL-A and EHF Elite. All good players.
Eagles are made up of kids who played mostly in EHF and some E9. All good players.
And it’s not a knock on any league. My kid is decent. He couldn’t make e9 team, got considered for an alternate spot for EHF Platinum but it was on a weak team, so we decided best spot for him would be BHL. It’s about finding the right league.

Is it about finding the right team or the right league?
I didn't even know what league my sons team was in until a few months ago. For me it's been all about the team.

This stuff is pointless. League doesn't matter as much as the team and coach, and every age group is different. My son plays BHL American. He's played 3 platinum teams this year and is 2-1 against them. Last year's team went 0-4 against platinum teams. Ranking leagues is focusing on the wrong part of all this.
My kids BHL national team played an EHF platinum team and lost 5-3. That ehf team ultimately won their midget division. Why do people care so much about the league. Play where the team is competitive and developing. Once your kid hits midgets it doesn't matter other than getting them onto a decent varsity team in high school.
Looking forward to next year when the stacked 2008 kids hit high school. Mass should be a powerhouse of hockey.
What league you play should be based on where your kids friends are and proximity to your house. All the hardos that pay big $$ for Fed hockey will whine and cry that this is not true. They are silly. Living through their kids because they did nothing as a kid.

I agree a lot of it has to do with where you live. Also does Fed hockey cost more than let's say E9 hockey? I'm not sure why if it does...
