Reach out in a hurry. Be realistic and be prepared. If he is a F, be ready to discuss stats, strengths and status on current team. Lots of dusters can forecheck/backcheck and look pretty skating but do they consistantly find the net? If D, being quick, strong on skates and skilled offensively will start the conversation. Everyone wants a D who can tally A's and G's but they are rarer than a midnight sun.

Better start now. Many coaches have targeted the kids they want and have agreements in place. If no one has contacted you yet get to work now. Many elite teams doing full season next year.
