Word is the team has a kid from Florida that comes up every weekend to just play. 1st that is insane if true. Is it true
If he is rostered it is still insane but not against the rules.
He is rostered and playing but getting around it because the parents own a condo in Boston and they use that address. Best part is the TG coach was gonna complain to the fed last year when he was gonna play for IHC.
Why in the world would anyone need a condo in Boston to play for a NH team. Why can’t you be from Florida? Newsflash, every Floridian hockey player travels 2 wknds per month if they’re with the alliance. Most of their games are out of the state. I know people from Idaho whose kids play on the La kings. I don’t see why anyone cares where the kid lives or if he’s homeless. If he’s rostered he can play. Why would anyone complain about that? People need to mind their own business. Jeeze
Hey Fredo..thanks for the stellar Newsflash.

read the comments from the amateur hour. people clearly think you need to live here to play here. the op said that they have a condo in Boston to "get around it." Nothing to get around. it's not a high school team in Boston, it's a private club in NH. To the other person questioning whether they have hockey in Florida, they do but it's not high quality. The higher ranked teams like the alliance travel every other weekend to games and tournaments all over the country. Look at mhr and who they play.

Do they not have hockey teams in FL?

I can see why people might wonder about something like this. I more so wonder why someone from FL would want to take up a plane up to cold NH/MA every weekend all winter. With how nuts parents are getting and what they are willing to spend money on though I'm sure we will see more of this in the future.

I guess nothing is sacred anymore. I used to feel lucky about living in this area for certain amenities - schools, healthcare, hockey (!) but now anyone who wants a can just get an MA or NH address and get the same benefits. Joke's on us, open borders.

Re: NH finest

Why do you care? Worry about yourself. If this upsets you because it's makes hockey harder for your little Timmy then quit now. You're too soft for the game or doing it for the wrong reasons. Move along and mind your own business

I totally agree. I don't know why people are all up in anyone's business like this. The kid can play on 5 teams in 5 states if he feels like it. How in the world does this effect you or anyone else for that matter? Leave people alone. It's not against any rule to play for a team outside your own state!

The reason why he lists a Boston address is because the ehf rules say that only kids from New England and New York can be rostered on a team. Not that anyone cares about the rules. But that’s why this is happening. As stupid as it is, at least they’re trying to follow the rules.

The worst part is the TG coach is first to cry about the rules not being followed.

Ohhhhhh didn’t know that. Another stupid rule from the EHF!

Re: NH finest

Please stop using “little Timmy” when insulting someone. It’s hurtful.

Re: NH finest

This should be called the hockey Douche board, because it's full of them!

Re: NH finest

There are a lot of douchey people here. I mean seriously if you are living in FL and coming to MA every weekend for children's hockey you are douche. You CHOSE to live in FL, maybe find another sport for your kid. You all can sit here and say it's no one's business and what do we care...but that's what happens on this forum. You post things like this, people read it and think WTF. It's not normal people.

Re: NH finest

Definitely against the rules……
EHF Rules:

4.1        Player Registration Any person who meets the age requirements set forth by USA Hockey and is an amateur in good standing shall be entitled to register as a player in the EHF provided that the player is a resident of New England, New York and New Jersey. Players properly registered and meeting the following requirements will be deemed authentic:
a Resides in any of the 6 New England states, New York and New Jersey.
b Materially parti****tes (at least 1 practice per week) in all team activities including but not limited to regularly scheduled practices and EHF League games
c Receives a residency waiver from the B.O.D. while maintaining material parti****tion requirements.
d Full time EHF Elite players for all age divisions may not play for a nonmember club. Players may play for school teams and town-based programs on a non-interference basis with the approval of their EHF organization director. Half season teams are exempt.

Dude, get with it. A lot of teams across the country have players that fly in for weekends to play games. They do it to get because they have the money and a player that needs to be challenged. It is really not that big of deal. The EHF might have rules that regulate where a player lives, but keep in mind the families who can fly around on weekends also have homes in multiple state and spend time at all of them.

Yeah playing 30 minutes in a game after being on a plane coming from another state. Makes sense. I'm sure the 'challenge' really pays off.

Re: NH finest

Not sure why everyone is salty on all this. I have a NJ license and consider NJ home. My sons go to school in NJ. We split time in MA and NJ almost 50/50. We play in the EHF. Is there a problem with that?

Why? Does the EHF has different geographic rules per age class?

We play for 2014 eagles. 2014s are stacked even here in NJ. That's why we had to go to MA to get to elite.
