And maybe 1 will make it to a D-1 hockey school or past that.
That my friend is always the pattern.
Strange dynamic, where 15 fall off in 3 years, but 5 end up back on the list two years later. What do you attribute this fluctuation to?
And if only 1 of the current top 20 go D1, where do the rest of the D1 players come from? I’m pretty sure we concluded recently, that there are currently over 1000 American born D1 players.

These 2014 parents are a pain in the a*s. The only issues our organization has is with this group of kids and their helicopter parents. They question everything and complain about it all - ice time, practice length, tournaments, swag, etc. It is exhausting.

I'm guessing at least some of these 2014 parents haven't had older kids play. I've got a 2006 boy and a 2008 girl. What I thought was going to happen with them and their peers from 8-12 years old to now, has proven to not be the case. Just enjoy it for what it is. I didn't think either of mine would ever be D1 college players and they will not. They are very good high school players, which is a reasonable goal, but honestly a reach for 90% of these 9 year olds you're talking about. I've witnessed parents almost ruin their own lives and families as their one time wonderboy or girl has not developed or has fallen out of love with hockey. I've seen adults get their kids kicked off of teams. If you honestly think a particular group of 9 year olds is special, please keep these ideas out of the kids world. They don't need the pressure.
I don't think people are thinking their 2014 is going to go D1 or NHL. Seems like this group of parents are misunderstood. I think there are some very good kids from the group on some of the top teams and the parents are making an attempt to keep them motivated and into it. I'm sure all parents do that for their kids right? If anything seeing comments from people saying, oh kids go downhill as they get older, blah blah maybe puts fear in some of these parents to keep going and do more.
Come back to me when checking starts and these danglers end up looking at the lights when trying to go through a solid defenseman that knows how to play the body. Players are much different when playing the body becomes part of the game.

A lot of these 2014's move really well with big athletic frames, and they possess the edge work and grit to put your 2011's in a body bag in a few years. CANT WAIT!!!!
