You know the type that talk about their kids summer team all winter? The ones who know kids on every other 2011 team because they’ve played against them or coached them? The ones who talk poorly about past coaches and programs? The ones who send their kids stats to or highlights from the weekend to everyone?
At what point can you just tell them to stop?
What happened to having a backbone and telling people to stfu? Instead we passively go on chat boards and vent anonymously.
There is nothing wrong with telling people they are overbearing if you have to suffer their presence all season. You won’t make friends but you should have enough by now to not care.
Be careful, you can’t tell all parents to shut up. Sometimes parents fund multiple players on your team and it will collapse if you do such a thing. #RollRats
You any tell people to shut up- you are supposed to be an adult who can change the topic of a conversation. I can’t stand a parent on my kid’s team, i grin and deal.
People who do this tend to be anxious about their place, perhaps they had a bad relationship with their parents who the f knows.
We all have one or two, keep in mind everyone likely feels the same way about them.
