Fishless - I'd pitch a tent and wait for and research deals over the winter. When my Lowrance 337c is working -- which is most of the time -- its a great unit and has an excellent display. Unfortunately, all the modern units with NMEA 2000 network capabilities are much more sensitive to voltage fluctuations than the older models. Hummingbird has a black and white 3D matrix (97?) that looks like it has potential as a sonar only unit. I checked out the 3D views on their web site and they looked pretty good...I was thinking of this for a bow mount but did not pull the trigger.
