Its true that your real friends will not leave you, and if all your friends have left, then you need new friends.

Get help in your community the women's shelter and victims advocate are both great ideas. You must defend yourself because nobody else will until you force the issue.

There are support groups you can go to, try divorcecare.com to find a group near you.

Good for you for pressing charges. He can not do this to you, so make sure you are making noise wherever you can to get the help you need to keep him away from you. I would also say that if there are situations where you know he or his people may be, than stay away yourself to keep safe. I know it hurts having to do that, but unfortunately in divorce the friends seem to get split up too. In times like this you will find out who yours are, and the rest of them...screw it.
