I just talked with Melvin Blackford, 8th Engrs.C company. Nam.. was great to talk with him.. he send me pictures of Mess Daddy... Mess Daddy was loved by everyone. He cooked on an LZ, made popcorn and cakes, and really good food.. guys would fly in just to eat...and if he thought you were off your feed, he\'d rat you out to the chaplain to talk with you. He had a big heart... Melvin is sending me pictures I can put in the Sabre in the upcoming issues.. great hearing from him, love to hear from more of you.. we\'re down to 43% of live vets out of those that served in Nam.. we\'re dwindling. Tell me your stories before you become worm food and start pushing up flowers. |
