There are at least a few ways to change lures more quickly. Some use a loop knot and put it in the split ring (of spoon) when they change it. Some use a snap swivel. I prefer, a duolock snap. If you choose the duolock, make sure you have a strong, small, barrel swivel between your mono line and leader. FYI, I like my ultimate leader a rod's length. I find the best knots are tied at home with no pressure. E.g. not tieing on to lures when fishing is hot. You can snell your flies with a short leader and also put them on a duolock snap.
